Day 8: Eugene and the U of O

Slept great on a real bed again, it was superb! In the morning, Brett and I headed to University career fair. Brett is the campus Peace Corps recruiter so I got a great parking place which enabled me to hang out all day on the campus. All the grassy areas on campus were covered with over 100,000 white flags meant to represent the approximately half a million Iraqis killed in the war, the red flags represent the approximately 4,000 Americans killed in the war….more than a 10 to 1 ratio.

I couldn’t believe the size of the outing department…included a photo. They have trips going into the mountains almost everyday, where was this when I was in school?

I checked out the Geography Department and was invited out for for a boisterous happy hour at the local pizza joint.
